Students for a Sustainable Stanford will host the tenth annual Stephen H. Schneider Memorial Lecture on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, with speaker Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali, Vice President of Environmental Justice, Climate, and Community Revitalization for the National Wildlife Federation. An internationally renowned environmental justice activist, policymaker, and speaker, Dr. Ali worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for 24 years before resigning to found the Hip-Hop Caucus, where he led their work on issues of climate, environmental justice, civic engagement, and more. His advocacy focuses on revitalizing vulnerable communities and securing health, economic, and environmental justice. 

The Schneider lecture is held annually in honor of Dr. Stephen H. Schneider, Stanford professor and world-renowned climate scientist who passed away in 2010. Dr. Schneider is survived by Dr. Terry Root, researcher and Senior Fellow at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment.
