The Paris Climate Change Agreement in 2015 brought the world together on a set of goals for the planet's future that includes keeping warming below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. The 23rd annual United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP) to the 1992 UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is being held in Bonn, Germany November 6 - 17. It marks a chance for governments to discuss the next steps toward implementation of the Paris Agreement. A number of Stanford researchers, including some who helped provide scientific information underlying the Paris Agreement as well as experts in related areas of climate change, economics and energy, expressed their hopes for the talks.
